A 27-year-old was stabbed several times in the area of his head, pelvis and forearm in Vienna-Ottakring on Tuesday. The victim had previously gotten into an argument with a 36-year-old when he suddenly pulled out a gun. The suspect was arrested.
The victim suffered multiple injuries in the attack in Ottakring on Tuesday. The 36-year-old man from Iraq is said to have suddenly stabbed his opponent because of a disagreement.
Third person wanted to settle a dispute
An acquaintance (28) of the victim allegedly tried to settle the argument and was also attacked by the suspect. He suffered an injury to his forearm.
Victim went to hospital after the attack
With several wounds on his body, the 27-year-old went to a hospital before the officers arrived – the acquaintance received emergency medical attention on the spot from Vienna’s professional rescue service.
The murder weapon was not found
Police eventually reached the suspect’s home address, where he was temporarily arrested. However, the murder weapon could not be found, police said on Wednesday. The 36-year-old was taken to jail. Further investigations are underway.
