The emergency services also had to be deployed on Christmas Eve! This also became apparent in Innsbruck on Sunday evening when a person climbed over the railing of the Hall West highway bridge and disappeared.
“We had to start the search again on Christmas Eve,” the Innsbruck water rescue service said on social media. But what had happened?
Witness alerted the emergency services
Late Sunday night, a driver on the Hall West highway bridge saw a person climb over the railing above the bridge and then disappear into the darkness. The man immediately alerted the emergency services.
Numerous emergency services in action
Numerous members of the water rescue and fire brigades arrived in the middle of the night to scour the inn from Hall West to Wattens. The emergency services searched for the person with the help of a jet ski, the drone of the Innsbruck fire brigade and numerous swimmers.
Members of the Wilten volunteer fire brigade and the Innsbruck water rescue station positioned themselves on the bridges. The police searched the shore for the person. After about an hour and a half, the operation was finally terminated without results.
