It’s almost a miracle that everyone survived! A 41-year-old lost control of her car near Söll in Tyrol (Kufstein district) on Thursday afternoon and drove into oncoming traffic. An oncoming car was no longer able to brake in time and crashed into the woman’s car without braking. Both drivers were injured in the accident.
Around 5 p.m., the 41-year-old Austrian woman was driving her car on the B178 from Söll towards Wörgl when, for reasons that are still unclear, she suddenly lost control of the car. “She drove the car into the oncoming lane and stopped opposite the direction of travel,” police said.
Vehicles became total
A 39-year-old local man, driving in the opposite direction, crashed into the right side of the 41-year-old’s stationary vehicle without braking. “He was seriously injured and had to be taken to the district hospital in St. Johann in Tirol by the rescue team after receiving first aid,” the investigators said.
Fortunately, the crash driver suffered only minor injuries in the collision. “She was taken by the rescue team to the district hospital in Kufstein for further medical examination,” the director explains. Both vehicles involved in the accident were totaled. They were towed away. The B178 had to be closed for half an hour during the registration of the accident and the evacuation work.
