The fire brigade in the Tyrolean Tannheimertal in the Ausserfern region had to respond to a large-scale fire operation on Friday: a hut in a hotel village was completely on fire. 150 emergency services extinguished the fire.
Around 5 p.m., the local emergency services received a report: a fire had broken out in the chalet village, located in the municipality of Schattwald at the rear of the Tannheimer Valley. According to the police, the building in question was completely on fire, but the fire could probably be prevented from spreading to adjacent buildings.
A total of approximately 150 firefighters from fire departments in surrounding communities were deployed to extinguish the fire. When the flames were under control, emergency services were still dealing with heavy smoke.
Residents evacuated, no injuries
According to police, there were initial reports that no injuries had been reported, but media reports suggested that several dozen residents had to be evacuated from the chalet village. It was not yet clear what caused the fire. Police fire investigators must find out now.
