Fatal accident in Hochoetz in the Tyrolean Ötztal on Saturday! Shortly after take-off, a local man (54) fell with his paraglider. The injured man had to be flown to hospital by emergency helicopter.
The accident happened shortly before 2:30 p.m. The 54-year-old took off with his paraglider from a currently closed slope in the Hochoetz ski area. “Immediately after takeoff, the plane crashed for unknown reasons,” police said.

The local man then collapsed onto the slope. “He suffered injuries to his back.” The piste rescue team saved the 54-year-old with a piste machine. The injured person was then flown to Zams Hospital.
