Fire alarm in the middle of the New Year’s Eve party – in a popular bar in the city center on Sporgasse in Graz. Around 4 a.m., flames came out of the entrance to the restaurant, visitors ran outside and the police, fire brigade and Red Cross were alerted.
“The operation started quickly, and of course there are many police officers present and on standby on New Year’s Eve,” Styrian police spokesman Fritz Grundnig told “Krone”.
Chaos ensued; In total, about 21 people were injured – according to initial information, three to four local visitors were even seriously injured.
