A dispute between two young men in Vienna-Leopoldstadt ended with an arrest and a hospital admission on Saturday evening. A 22-year-old is said to have seriously injured his opponent in the face with a nail file. The 24-year-old then made National Socialist statements. The police had to intervene.
Officers from the Brigittenau city police command noticed the argument between the two men on the Gabor-Steiner-Weg around 8:20 p.m. and tried to intervene. Police separated the two men. As the 24-year-old tried to leave the scene, he uttered Nazi slogans before police noticed a heavily bleeding wound on his face.
Taken to hospital with serious injuries
The 24-year-old had to be immediately treated by the rescue team and taken to a hospital. According to current findings, the 22-year-old allegedly attacked the injured man with a nail file; he was subsequently arrested.

“The 22-year-old is being held by police and is being reported on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent. The 24-year-old will be reported for violating the prohibition law,” the Vienna State Police Directorate announced on Sunday.
