Last Thursday, four Last Generation Austria activists – as reported – blocked a street in Ischgl. After a short protest, the action was dissolved and a diversion was set up. A video is now circulating online showing police equipping activists trapped on the ground with thermal blankets.
As usual, this was an unannounced action that the activists of Last Generation Austria took last Thursday in the Tyrolean ski hotspot Ischgl. Two of the four demonstrators remained in Paznauntalstrasse and again called on the government to listen to the Climate Council’s recommendations.
The police kept an eye on activists
A video on social media is now causing a stir: you see how police officers bring thermal blankets and foil to the activists. One of the four demonstrators is covered by an officer.
A police statement said on Thursday that a local diversion was quickly set up through police intervention and that the “unannounced gathering was officially dispersed”. It was said at the time that the four participants would be reported to the Landeck district administration.
