A Lower Austrian (55) is missing in Burgenland. His last sign of life came from Rust when the excursionist traveled on the ice of Lake Neusiedler. His mobile phone was then in Podersdorf. But since then there has been no trace of what disappeared.
The 55-year-old from the Baden district went on a trip to Lake Neusiedler on Monday around noon. In Ruster Bay he probably put on his skates to make his rounds on the bare parquet.
Caring for the 55 year old
The Lower Austrian should have been back home around 5 p.m. But the excursion goer never showed up again. Concern for him increased. The missing person was reported around 9 p.m.
No sign of the missing person
Volunteers from the fire brigade immediately started looking for the missing person. The area was combed in sub-zero temperatures. However, the 55-year-old disappeared without a trace.
Mobile phone focused
Based on mobile phone tracking, it was assumed that the man was in Podersdorf am See yesterday. However, the poll was not accurate enough and the missing person could not be found. The emergency services initially stopped the search at midnight.
Search is currently underway
The action continued unabated on Tuesday at 8 a.m. The search for the missing person is in full swing, but so far in vain. The fire brigade teams are supported by an air helicopter team and a drone operation.
“The cold can be life-threatening. We hope to find the man as soon as possible,” said the helpers who did not give up.
