The conflict is growing! – Now Iran and Pakistan are bombing each other

Date:

After an Iranian airstrike on Pakistani territory, Pakistan attacked targets in Iran. Pakistan’s Foreign Ministry announced in Islamabad on Thursday that several military strikes have been carried out against terrorist hideouts in Sistan and Balochistan province. “Several terrorists were killed.”

The strikes served Pakistan’s national interest. The sovereignty and territorial integrity of the ‘brother country’ Iran are respected. A Pakistani intelligence official had earlier spoken of attacks on “anti-Pakistani militant groups” in the neighboring country.

Apparently several deaths
Iranian state media reported explosions around the city of Saravan in the country’s southeast, close to the border with Pakistan. Three women and four children, all non-Iranians, were killed.

Pakistan on Wednesday accused Iran of killing two children in an airstrike on its territory. In response to the attack on the restive province of Balochistan, the government in Islamabad recalled its ambassador to Tehran and promised a response.

Iran spoke of an attack on the Sunni jihadist group Jaish al-Adl that was not aimed at Pakistanis. Tehran said the militant bases were linked to Israel.

Striving for a ‘joint solution’.
After Thursday’s airstrikes, Pakistan’s Foreign Ministry stressed it would “continue to take all necessary steps for the security of its own people.” Efforts will also be made to “find common solutions with Iran in the fight against terrorism.”

The Sunni group Jaish al-Adl was founded in 2012 by former members of a radical Sunni movement. In recent years, the group has committed several attacks in Iran, where it is classified as a terrorist organization. In December, the group claimed responsibility for an attack that killed 11 at police headquarters in the city of Rask in southeastern Iran.
