Climate activists caused problems among fans during the Hahnenkamm race in Kitzbühel. They blocked an entrance.
At the biggest skiing spectacle of the year, people from the ‘last generation’ blocked an access road. ‘Listen to the Climate Council’, read the activists’ posters.
“While Austria is having fun on the Hahnenkamm descent today, we are sliding further towards catastrophe,” the organization wrote on X (formerly Twitter).
And further: “We call on the government to finally take action and implement the 93 recommendations of the Climate Council, such as a free public transport ticket. Skiing will soon be a thing of the past. We can’t pretend that everything is normal.”
The race itself was not affected by the campaign and was able to start on time.
