Tragic accident Sunday evening in Krottendorf, Eastern Styria: A 39-year-old driver crashed into a bridge portal at too high speed. The emergency doctor could only determine that the man was dead.
On Sunday around 10 p.m., a 39-year-old from the Graz-Umwelt district was driving on the B72 from Weiz towards Anger. According to the police, he probably turned right shortly before a bridge viaduct and crashed head-on into the bridge portal.
Very high speed
“Based on the damage, the accident probably happened at a very high speed,” police said in a statement.
The driver of the accident had to be rescued from the car by the fire brigade. However, an emergency doctor could only determine that the 39-year-old was dead. According to the current state of research, negligence on the part of third parties can be excluded.
