A small plane crashed in southeastern Brazil on Sunday. Seven people were killed in the accident. The single-engine plane reportedly broke up in mid-air after takeoff.
The tragedy occurred after the small plane took off from the city of Campinas, São Paulo state. The vehicle crashed in the mining town of Itapeva – the seven occupants were only rescued dead.
According to Brazilian media reports citing authorities, the plane had already broken into several pieces in mid-air. The plane belonged to a private company and was en route to Minas Gerais, Belo Horizonte. The cause of the crash was initially unclear.
