A 20-year-old Italian YouTuber who caused a fatal accident with a Lamborghini in Rome during a YouTube video challenge, killing a five-year-old, has been sentenced to four years in jail and four months in jail.
Last June, the man drove a rented Lamborghini SUV into a small car occupied by a mother and her two children, a boy and his sister. He is said to have raced through a 30 speed zone at 124 km/h. The five-year-old was fatally injured in the crash and the mother and girl were injured.
Mitigating circumstances granted thanks to summary proceedings
The 20-year-old was convicted of negligent homicide and bodily harm. He was given general mitigating circumstances because he had agreed to summary proceedings before the judiciary.
There were four other people in the Lamborghini with the man at the time of the accident. They are suspected of having recorded a video for a challenge at the time of the accident.
The accident took place in Casal Palocco, south of the Italian capital. As a result, a heated debate arose in Italy about dangerous challenges on digital social networks.
