The 45-year-old wanted to cross the Brennerstrasse in Steinach with her four-year-old daughter shortly before noon. Then a devastating incident took place on a protective route. As she was about to pass the spot with the child in her arms, a car hit her directly on the protective path.
The two were thrown forward and left lying on the street. The driver, a 25-year-old local resident, stopped immediately after the collision and provided first aid. “The two injured people subsequently received medical care from emergency physicians and were then rescued to the emergency room of the clinic in Innsbruck,” police said.
Sun-blinded motorists
The mother suffered a fracture to her left thigh and the daughter suffered abrasions to her head. The driver stated that he was so blinded by the low sun that he only noticed the two people when he collided with them.
