Milei’s party is submitting a bill to repeal the legalization of abortion in Argentina

Since December 2020, termination of pregnancy is legal in Argentina up to fourteen weeks’ gestation. The far-right party is committed to eliminating the causes of health risks and sexual violence.

In addition, punishes women in most cases and plans to make the Argentine Criminal Code more restrictive than in 1921 to eliminate the causes of health risks and sexual violence.

The proposal calls for the re-penalization of anyone who performs an abortion at any stage of pregnancy, and for the re-introduction of a “special disqualification” for healthcare workers who “misuse their science or art to cause or assist in the cause of abortion.” .”

The legalization and decriminalization of abortion in Argentina was achieved during the mandate of Milei’s predecessor, Alberto Fernández, after Years of struggle of the feminist movement. Until the rule went into effect, breaks were only legal in cases of rape or cases that endangered the woman’s health.
