Violent allegations – Haydn’s private university is now investigating teachers

Dissonant tones in classes at the Joseph Haydn Private University in Eisenstadt: A long-time music teacher who has worked in the home is now facing accusations from several sides. “After the allegations became known, the state official was immediately relieved from duty in consultation with the state government office,” the university management said.

Accusations go back years
The complaints relate to the year 2021. Students had only openly criticized the teacher’s behavior at the time. The university management has descriptions of some of those affected. “In this sensitive matter, all allegations must be carefully investigated,” the report says.

Whether the violations took the form of psychological violence, abuse of authority or assault is the subject of the internal investigation. It is emphasized that the university management is cooperating with all relevant authorities to expeditiously clarify the matter.

A particularly difficult case
“As long as the internal investigations are not completed, sensitive treatment is requested for reasons of data protection and victim protection,” the university management said: “Prejudices must be avoided.”

The results of the studies still have to be awaited; the protection of any victims is a priority. “There are clear boundaries in the classroom. If these are exceeded, consequences are to be expected.”
