How often do you eat pizza? More than 91 percent of Austrians treat themselves to a ‘mafi cake’ at least once a month. The Kits Hello Fresh survey does not show whether it is fresh or frozen. The fact is: pizza is one of the favorite dishes of Austrians. With an annual consumption per capita of 3.3 kilos, we are still at the bottom of Europe, according to Greenpeace. It is not surprising that Italy leads with 7.8 kilos, but not worldwide: the US leads with an average of 13 (!) kilos. Mama Mia!
Of course, opinions differ in this country about what topping should be on a pizza. 40 percent prefer salami, followed by Pizza Hawaii and Margherita. Six percent of pizza lovers still choose a fiery Diavolo.
