A serious accident took place on a slope in the western Styrian ski area of Salzstiegl on Saturday morning. A twelve-year-old snowboarder and a 60-year-old skier, both from Styria, collided and fell. It is still unclear how this could have happened, according to the police.
Cause unclear
After receiving initial care from the mountain rescue team, the girl was flown by rescue helicopter to the pediatric surgery department of the LKH Graz. The 60-year-old skier was also treated by the mountain rescue team and taken to LKH Voitsberg with minor injuries.
