After a pause of several months, Ukraine and Russia have exchanged prisoners again. “Ours are at home,” President Volodymyr Zelensky wrote on social networks on Wednesday.
The responsible coordination staff spoke of the largest exchange of prisoners since the Russian invasion more than 22 months ago. Accordingly, 230 men and women were released. According to Moscow, 248 Russians returned from Ukrainian captivity.

According to Zelensky, the prisoners were civilians and soldiers. The soldiers also included defenders of the port city of Mariupol and Snake Island. The United Arab Emirates and the International Committee of the Red Cross were involved in organizing the exchange.
