Knife attack in Lower Austria – attack on asylum seekers’ home: victims are still in danger of death

The 24-year-old Libyan citizen continues to fight for his life after the knife attack on Monday evening at the East Asylum Care Center in Traiskirchen (Lower Austria).

According to police spokesman Raimund Schwaigerlehner, the victim is currently receiving intensive care. It is still unclear whether the 24-year-old will survive. As reported, a bloody knife attack took place at the East Asylum Care Center in Traiskirchen in the Baden district on Monday evening.

Stung several times
A Moroccan (22) attacked the 24-year-old Libyan armed with a knife and stabbed him several times. An argument reportedly led to the incident.

Suspect does not confess
The public prosecutor ordered that the suspected Moroccan be sent to Wiener Neustadt prison. He did not confess during the first interrogation. An investigation is underway on suspicion of attempted murder.
