The Provincial Council of Gipuzkoa has returned to the 2023 revenue campaign 145.4 million euros to 46,000 pensioners who contributed to a mutual insurance company before 1979. In total, the Foral Institution resolved 163,886 complaints, which represents 70% of the total number of requests received.

The people affected by the Supreme Court rulings and who submitted the claim in writing to the Ministry of Finance or through the Zergenabidea platform, whose request was reviewed and returned, have already received the payment to the corresponding bank account. During these weeks, all people for whom a correction has been applied will receive an electronic and postal communication with the solution of the calculation made.

Jokin PeronaDeputy of Finance and Finance, appeared this morning, together with the spokesperson of the provincial government, Irune Berasaluzeat the press conference of the Government Council, to account for these returns. Perona publicly thanked the work that “the professionals of the Ministry of Finance and Finance and IZFE have and are doing, who in two weeks have been able to respond to 70% of these requests.”

Regarding the 30% of the remaining requests, which concern 20,000 pensioners, the Deputy for Finance and Finance indicated that “the Provincial Council continues to work to be able to respond to all requests”. In this sense, he explained that “these cases will be assessed individually, because their casuistry is different from the majority of the declarations submitted” and in this sense he called for calm among this group “as our goal is to have everything resolved before the end of the year.”

The 145.4 million euros from the 2024 campaign will be added to the 59 million repaid in the 2023 campaign, bringing the total amount to date to more than 200 million euros.
