A nine-year-old child in the US is suspected of killing a family member by shooting him in the head. He was arrested after the incident in Tooele, western Utah, local police said Tuesday. It was not announced whether it was a boy or a girl.
Emergency services found the seriously injured man in the family’s home on Friday. “He appeared to have suffered a gunshot wound to the head,” said police representative Colbey Bentley. The man was taken to a hospital in nearby Salt Lake City, where he died. The child was arrested Friday evening.
A possible formal murder charge against the child is being considered, Bentley said. Authorities did not say what relationship the child had with the victim.
