At least nine people were injured in a collision in China on Friday. About a hundred vehicles were involved in the collision on black ice, Chinese state media reported. Footage from state broadcaster CCTV showed cars stuck together on a highway in Suzhou, about an hour’s drive west of Shanghai.
As the traffic police announced, miraculously no one was killed in the accident. Three injured people were taken to hospital, six people were slightly injured. The road remained closed for several hours. Police urged motorists to be careful: many roads were very slippery due to the cold and rainy weather.
This post shows a video of the accident scene:
Road accidents occur regularly in China due to a lack of safety controls. In December 2022, one person was killed in a collision involving more than 200 vehicles in central China’s Henan province.
