According to Maiz, “some of the companies are already using TicketBai, some are ready and the rest are waiting to join the system before November 1st.” The Federation’s latest efforts are thus aimed at analyzing the solutions of the financial entities that adapt the dataphones to the new regulations to issue TicketBai.
Finally, Maiz assured that Gipuzkoa Merkatariak would have liked Bizkaia also to have passed the TicketBai measure within fiscal year 2022 and not January 2024 as they had planned. “It would have been the fairest thing to do, although we are also aware that the level of complexity required by the Treasury of Bizkaia is greater from 2024 onwards, as they will require control over both the concepts of expenditure and income. “.
Fight against tax fraud
TicketBAI is a project led by the three regional treasuries and the Basque government that aims to fight tax fraud. It consists in the establishment of legal and technical obligations which, in principle, oblige all natural and legal persons carrying out an economic activity in the Basque Country to use invoicing software.
TicketBAI enables the Provincial Treasury to audit all bills issued in the region, especially bills for activities billed in cash, using the information obtained from that audit to assist taxpayers in complying with their tax obligations.
