A local man (48) and an accomplice provided numerous customers with large quantities of cocaine, mainly in Innsbruck. Now there was the “reception”.
Three people took a seat on the dock. The 48-year-old is the first suspect, the second suspect (55) and a former café owner is the third suspect.
The local operator apparently knew nothing
This constellation arose because the cocaine trade in the café in the market hall came to an abrupt end between June 2022 and September 2023 with a Cobra operation. The bar owner had – apparently unknowingly – helped hand over 100 grams of cocaine in a wooden wine box. “I knew nothing about it,” the woman emphasized several times, and eventually she was legally acquitted.
Very large quantities processed
The first defendant confessed, but like his assistant did not recognize the suspect’s seven kilos, but in the verdict the jury under judge Heide Maria Paul still assumed very large quantities.
Incorrect use can be fatal
“If used incorrectly, cocaine can also lead to the death of the user,” the judge emphasized – imposing eight years of unconditional imprisonment (plus 16 months of a revoked suspended sentence) and three years of imprisonment for the accomplice.
The jury seemed to have followed the prosecutor, who called the first defendant the “king of cocaine.” The judgments are not yet final.
