According to NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg, Ukraine urgently needs more ammunition. More than two years after the start of the Russian invasion, the country is not short of courage, but rather of ammunition. It would be a ‘serious historical mistake to let Putin win’.
“All allies must dig deep into their pockets and deliver quickly,” Stoltenberg demanded. He referred to a NATO survey showing that two-thirds of member states’ populations were in favor of continued support for Ukraine.
“A matter of political will”
There is an urgent need for NATO allies to intensify the supply of ammunition and weapons to Ukraine. “It is a matter of political will to make decisions.”
Daily consequences on the battlefield
Every day of delay has consequences on the battlefield. “This is a crucial moment,” Stoltenberg added. “It would be a serious historical mistake to let Putin win.”
You should not allow authoritarian leaders like the Kremlin chief to enforce their will by force: “That would be dangerous for all of us.”
Regarding Russia’s presidential elections starting Friday, Stoltenberg says any attempt to hold the vote in Ukraine’s annexed territories is completely illegal. Russia has announced that it will hold elections there.
