The European Parliament asks Israel to open the border crossings in Gaza for the entry of humanitarian aid

The European Parliament has demanded that Israel immediately authorize and facilitate the delivery of humanitarian aid to Gaza through all existing border crossings: Rafah, Kerem Shalom, Karmi and Erez.

They also call for the Red Cross to be given immediate access to the hostages held in Gaza and to provide them with medical assistance.

The Strasbourg Chamber welcomes the opening of maritime humanitarian corridors for Gaza, but emphasizes that land distribution is a priority. After warning of the risk of disease spread and already confirmed child deaths due to malnutrition and dehydration, MEPs urge Israeli authorities to open border crossings of Rafah, Kerem Shalom, Karmi and Erez.

In a resolution adopted by 372 votes in favor to 44 against with 120 abstentions, they also urge all parties to cease attacks on humanitarian convoys, as well as repeated attacks on civilians seeking aid, and on humanitarian and medical facilities and employees.

Finally, the European Parliament denounces the increase in violence by extremist settlers and the attacks by Israeli forces on Palestinians in the West Bank.
