A 62-year-old German skier caused a stir on Friday afternoon as she lay on the ground after a fall. An unknown winter sports enthusiast saw the woman and alerted the snow rescue team. Police are now looking for the skier and witnesses to the accident.
The German was in the Ischgl ski area shortly before 4 p.m. In the area under the Flimjochbahn, in the immediate vicinity of the busy Höllbodenbahn, the woman may have fallen for unknown reasons. Then she stood motionless on the slope.
An unknown skier then called the piste rescue team. She cared for the seriously injured woman. She was flown to the clinic in Innsbruck by emergency helicopter.
According to the Alpine police, no witnesses could be found. The accident reporter has not yet been investigated.
