On Monday evening, a truck driver from Uzbekistan got stuck with his semi-trailer in a narrow village street in Satteins (Vorarlberg). Since rescue was initially impossible, he and a companion had to spend the night there.
The 26-year-old Uzbek, who actually wanted to go to the Netherlands, had become a victim of his navigation system. This caused him to leave the A14 at Nenzing and enter directly onto Satteinser Gulmstrasse. As the path became narrower, the man was eventually forced to turn back. However, when reversing, his multi-ton refrigerated truck literally dug into the shoulder and became stuck.
Truck successfully recovered
Because rescue by the towing service was no longer possible due to darkness falling, the Uzbek and his companion had to spend the night in the truck. The next day the truck was finally recovered with steel cables – and the journey towards the Netherlands could continue.
