On Good Friday, another devastating accident occurred on Ennstalbundesstraße B320 in Styria, involving three vehicles. Four people were injured, some seriously, including a child.
A terrible accident took place on the B320 at the Liezen exit on the morning of Good Friday. The collision involved a truck, a minibus and a car, but exactly how this happened has yet to be determined
“Very battlefield”
However, the consequences of the accident were terrible, reports Christoph Schlüßlmayr, spokesperson for the fire brigade association in the Liezen area: “On site, the emergency services saw a real battlefield. The driver of the car was severely trapped in his vehicle due to the force of the impact and the use of hydraulic rescue equipment was absolutely necessary to extricate him from the vehicle.”
It took an hour before the man was released. In the back seat of the vehicle was an eight-year-old girl – although she was freed faster, according to the first information from the fire brigade, she was just as seriously injured.
A total of four people had to be rescued by emergency services and treated by paramedics and emergency physicians from the Red Cross and the Christophorus 14 emergency medical helicopter. Two of the accident victims were seriously injured.
The national highway was closed to traffic for about an hour during morning traffic and local diversions were put in place through the Liezen city area.
