In Vienna-Döbling, a marital dispute on Easter Sunday may have gotten completely out of hand: the man (57) is suspected of setting fire to the garden house of his 52-year-old wife. He then allegedly threatened his son on the phone that they would burn down their shared apartment in Favoriten. The man was arrested.
The emergency services received an emergency call around 7:45 p.m.: a garden house in Vienna-Döbling was on fire. A short time later an arrest was made: the garden house owner’s husband is suspected of having started the fire. According to the police, there may have been an argument between the two beforehand.
I wanted to burn down the second building
The 57-year-old was arrested in Van-der-Nüll-Gasse. After the arson, the 57-year-old allegedly threatened his son on the telephone that he would now also set fire to their shared apartment in Favoriten. “However, he could no longer do this,” the police said on Monday. Before he could even enter the apartment complex, he was arrested by the officers.
Massive damage to the building
At the same time, the fire in the garden house in Döbling was extinguished by the Vienna fire brigade. The detonation of suspected spilled petrol caused extensive damage to the building, requiring appropriate security and control measures by the fire brigade.
