Six people were killed in a nighttime Russian drone strike on the city of Kharkiv in northeastern Ukraine. Another ten people were injured, Kharkiv Mayor Igor Terekhov said on Saturday in the online service Telegram.
The Shevtschenkivskyi district in the north was attacked. The attack with Shahed drones proves once again that Russia is a ‘terrorist state’, Techerow said. The Ukrainian State Emergency Service confirmed six fatalities and “at least ten” injuries.
People with shrapnel in the hospital
Kharkiv Governor Oleh Synegubow had previously spoken about two men killed in the district. Police confirmed the two deaths and said eight people were taken to hospital with “blast injuries and shrapnel wounds.”
The injured were six men between the ages of 23 and 76 and two women between the ages of 25 and 52. Police said no one was injured in another attack on the village of Danylivka, just outside Kharkiv.
Six apartment buildings damaged
Photos released by the National Police showed several fires in civilian areas, including near an apartment building. According to Ukrainian authorities, several buildings have been damaged by Russian attacks, including six apartment buildings and a gas station.
