A father and his son had been making fence posts together in Carinthia, but then a terrible accident happened. The 14-year-old provided first aid and rescuers quickly arrived on the scene, but the 45-year-old died from his serious injuries.
On Saturday afternoon, father and son worked on the swing table saw in the municipality of Reichenau: they sawed fence posts from larch wood. Suddenly, a piece of wood was thrown backwards by the rotating saw and hit the 45-year-old’s body with full force.
His 14-year-old son immediately provided first aid and alerted the emergency services. The police officers who arrived shortly afterwards took over first aid measures until the medically trained rescuers arrived at the scene of the accident.
The RK1 rescue helicopter team flew the seriously injured man to the clinic in Klagenfurt, but he succumbed to his serious injuries there.
