Argument gets out of hand – attack in Vienna: woman stabs man in the leg

Date:

Due to a disagreement, a knife attack is said to have taken place in Vienna-Penzing shortly before midnight on Monday. A man (37) was injured. An acquaintance (41) allegedly stabbed him in the leg with a knife. The man is in hospital.

The attack is said to have taken place in a stairwell about half an hour before midnight. Officials from the Rudolfsheim-Fünfhaus city police command have been warned.

Police discover injured man
At the same time, officers from the Leyserstrasse police station became aware of a man who had clearly injured his leg during their patrol duties. It turned out that he was the victim of the knife attack.

Man taken to hospital after attack
The 37-year-old received immediate emergency medical care from Vienna’s professional rescue service and was then taken to a hospital. “There was no danger to life,” police spokesman Mattias Schuster assured on Tuesday. The suspect (41) was also found at the scene and temporarily arrested. The woman was banned from entering and approaching the building, as well as a temporary weapons ban.

The suspected murder weapon, the knife (pictured above), was recovered from the 41-year-old’s apartment. When the facts became clear, it turned out that the reason for the incident was a verbal argument between the two. Further investigations are underway.
