The ultimate horror idea for many women: after a Covid infection, Sarah Schwaiger suddenly lost her hair in the fall of 2022; an autoimmune disease could also be the cause. But the 40-year-old from Upper Austria managed to get the problem under control.
First the good news: Sarah Schwaiger (40) no longer needs a wig. Because she was able to stop the severe hair loss that started in the fall of 2022. “I didn’t have a lion’s mane, but I still had a lot of thick hair. But suddenly I had bunches of them, the parquet and tile floors were full of them,” the 40-year-old tells the “Krone”.
Dermatologists prescribed cortisone, creams and medicated hair shampoos, but nothing helped. “I became afraid of going bald and feared for my femininity,” says Schwaiger.
