Such terrifying cases are on the rise: more and more drivers are getting behind the wheel, even though their driver’s license has already been revoked for driving under the influence. The police draw this sobering conclusion after the weekend’s grid square in Burgenland.
On Sunday evening, 80 officers from the state traffic department and the district police command carried out a priority check. 950 drivers were arrested and 740 breath tests were carried out.
Almost two per thousand
13 drivers had drunk too much and in two other cases drugs were involved. The inglorious leader was a 36-year-old from the Neusiedl am See district, who was behind the wheel with a blood alcohol level of just under two per mille.
An Aixam driver (42) from the Güssing district had almost as much alcohol in his blood. Just a few days ago he got his driver’s license back, but now the document is gone again! The relevant reports have been sent to the district administration.
Terminus on the A3
A driver (46) from Hungary who was stopped on the A3 does not have a driver’s license. The officers also found that he had 1.46 per mille of alcohol in his breath. Further travel was immediately banned.
Extremely dangerous
A driver who had lost his driver’s license some time ago due to driving under the influence, stood with his broken car in a dangerous place on the A3. During the check-up his blood value was measured at 1.14 per mille. Advertisement – the procedure starts again.
No improvement
According to the deployment statistics, such cases are increasing. A 54-year-old driver from the Oberpullendorf district ended up on the grid with a blood alcohol level of 1.2 per mille. He was also unable to produce a driver’s license because his ‘pink paper’ had been confiscated for the same offense many weeks ago.
In the Jennersdorf urban area, police also noticed a cyclist (52) because he was riding almost in a serpentine line. The reason: 1.8 permille in the blood!
Provided fast 200 km/h
The driver’s license was confiscated on the spot from a Hungarian driver. On the way home on the Burgenland highway, the 23-year-old drove almost 200 km/h instead of 130. He was “flashed” with a laser gun.
A driver in Oberpullendorf drove twice as fast as allowed. He is now facing driver’s license revocation proceedings. 461 reports were filed for speeding and another 102 for pushing.
Coach stopped
Police also stopped a coach from Montenegro with 74 passengers and two drivers heading to Luxembourg. The driving data was manipulated. Driving times of 15 hours without a driver card were recorded.
As part of the focus campaign, 250 other reports and 240 criminal orders have been submitted.
