It was only on Monday that it became known that a bloody act had taken place on Sunday in the Gries district of Graz. Around 7 p.m. there was an argument between a 48-year-old Hungarian woman and her 31-year-old partner in an apartment on Triesterstraat. Both were heavily drunk and the argument was probably caused by jealousy.
Man seriously injured in stabbing
Anyway, during the argument, the woman suddenly grabbed a kitchen knife and stabbed her. The man suffered a stab wound to his upper body. The son-in-law, who was in the apartment and witnessed the crime, immediately called the emergency services.
The 31-year-old victim was initially in danger of death and was immediately taken to LKH Graz. His life is now out of danger, but he is still in intensive care.
Suspected attempted murder
The 48-year-old and her son-in-law were so drunk at the time of the crime that they could not be questioned about the crime until Monday. The suspect denied any intent to murder. The Graz Public Prosecutor’s Office has nevertheless ordered an investigation into the suspicion of attempted murder. The suspect is taken to Graz-Jakomini prison.
