It was his 63rd birthday, but the court in Upper Austria was not in a festive mood. The “Saubartl” was absolutely not satisfied with his original sentence of ten months. However, the higher regional court has now increased the sentence to three years in prison.
A man from the Traunviertel secretly filmed women in the toilet sixteen times – in four cases even in public toilets, where the former liberal local politician with a serious alcohol problem had installed cameras. However, the electrician made most of the recordings at ‘Corona parties’ in his own home, where he converted the quiet place into a perverse film studio without the knowledge of his visitors.
Victims belittled
But that was not enough: the infamous “Saubartl” had also abused two women a total of three times. For this he was initially sentenced to 30 months in prison in Steyr, ten of which were severe. This punishment was too strict for him, but too lenient for the public prosecutor. Both appealed against this. The hearing took place on Tuesday at the Oberlandesgericht Linz.
The lawyer made the situation worse by belittling one of the raped victims. The Senate – including two women – also decided on a three-year unconditional prison sentence for general preventive reasons.
