In France, two teenagers (14, 15) are said to have murdered a young man. They are accused of ambushed 22-year-old Philippe and brutally murdered him. They allegedly arranged the meeting via a dating platform on which they pretended to be girls.
At the agreed location, the young people said that they had attacked the man with pepper spray. Then they kicked him. The autopsy already confirmed that Philippe died from kicks to the head. The violent act took place in the city of Grande-Synthe in northern France. The 14-year-old and the 15-year-old were already known to the police.
They are said to have repeatedly made arrangements via the dating platform and used violence against the victims. Justice is now investigating murder. The police called on victims of the attacks to come forward and are still looking for accomplices.
Large-scale youth violence
Just on Thursday, French Prime Minister Gabriel Attal announced that he would respond to escalating youth violence in France with tougher and faster sentences. There should also be more prevention and educational support. “We need a strengthening of authority,” he said. This is “all too often questioned by a minority of our young people.” Young people must relearn to observe the simple rules of the Republic, values and duties.
In early April, a 15-year-old was murdered by other young people in the Paris area.
