On Saturday evening, a subway was stormed by WEGA, because two young people were in a subway with what was supposed to be a firearm.
Around 8:45 p.m., police were alerted to Alaudagasse in the 10th district. Frightened passengers had raised the alarm after spotting two young people (both 14) on the subway with what they thought was a firearm.
Deceptively real
The metro was subsequently halted and numerous emergency services from the Favoriten city police command secured the area. The two young people were quickly stopped in a car by WEGA officers.
One of the two was carrying a deceptively real-looking toy gun. This was assured, the operation was terminated and, after just under 30 minutes, normal subway operation resumed. The two young people are reported to have disturbed the peace
