Devastating accident Tuesday evening in the Tyrolean town of Ausserfern: In front of a house in the Tannheimertal, a 40-year-old local woman was run over by her own car and seriously injured. Only the nine-year-old son was in the car at the time of the accident. He immediately warned his father – investigations are underway.
The fatal incident occurred shortly after 7:30 p.m. On the forecourt of the house, the 40-year-old woman from the neighborhood was knocked over by the “slowly reversing car” and then fell over, the police reported. “While the woman remained there, the car continued to roll and was eventually stopped by a parked vehicle,” investigators continued.
Only the woman’s nine-year-old son was in the car that ran over the 40-year-old at the time of the accident. “He then ran into the house and reported the incident to his father, who initiated the rescue chain,” investigators said.
The 40-year-old suffered back injuries
The mother, who police said suffered injuries to her back, responded. She received first aid on the spot from the emergency services and was then taken to the hospital in Kempten.
It is still unclear why the car started in front of the house. The investigation into the exact cause of the accident is still ongoing.
