That’s bitter! A truck carrying crates full of Stiegl beer lost part of its load in the bend between the bus station and the Labor Chamber in Zwettl, Lower Austria.
Some beer fans may have been close to tears when they were out and about in the brewery town of Zwettl around 8:30 a.m. on Friday. There, a truck lost part of its load in the bend between the bus station and the Chamber of Labor: many Stiegl beer crates flew into the street and hundreds of bottles shattered on the hard asphalt floor.
“Wet and happy”
The loss of hundreds of bottles left many broken pieces over a length of about 30 meters and led to the deployment of two fire brigades that laboriously cleared the road. The road had to be partially closed on one side. By quickly leading the police through the streets of Zwettl, there were only shorter delays.
The clean-up work took an hour and a half and was “damp happy” in the true sense of the word. According to reports, there have been many reports of Zwettlers who were happy that it was not local beer.
