He was a mama’s boy. He hated the way he looked. He had no job. He hasn’t found a girlfriend. He felt like a failure. And at some point he started imagining what it would be like to kill women. He loved these daydreams. And then he made his horrific fantasies come true.
When Bernhard F. arrived at a police station in Rohrbach, Upper Austria, in the early evening of March 22, 2010, the first thing he had to do was wait.
The 25-year-old, like several other residents of the community, was summoned by police that day for a ‘formal questioning’. The officers hope that he or one of the other people has a clue that could be crucial in solving a gruesome criminal case.
Daydreams became reality
Six days earlier, a terrible crime had occurred in the quiet town: Andrea F., an early retired teacher, was murdered in her apartment. An unknown perpetrator strangled and stabbed the 47-year-old. And then desecrated her body.
Six knives in the dead woman’s chest, a ladle in her genitals, mumbling in her mouth. The belly: cut open; a flower pot with primroses had been ‘planted’ in it. And all over the abused body are crosses painted with blood.
