A 59-year-old in Tyrol probably owes his life to the courageous intervention of some passers-by. The local resident crashed his car into a tree in Telfs (Innsbruck-Land district) on Wednesday. He needed to be revived.
According to the police, the reason for the 59-year-old’s accident is still unknown. The man was driving east on the B171 shortly after 8am on Wednesday when he appeared to lose control of his car at an intersection. He ran a red light and collided with another car, causing it to brake abruptly. The 59-year-old’s car then crashed head-on into a tree.
Immediate resuscitation successful
Several witnesses to the accident came to the man’s aid, set the rescue chain in motion and removed the injured man from the accident vehicle. As police describe, they resuscitated the driver until rescue arrived – successfully. The man was taken to the trauma room of the clinic in Innsbruck.
