The multinational activated Saturday 23 and 30 April to recover lost production and deliver the promised volume to customers.
The Mercedes factory in Vitoria-Gasteiz will work again the whole next week after previous three weeks in which he had to stop one day its production due to lack of components.
The management of the largest company in the Basque Country informed staff this Thursday that the productive activity will in principle be maintained in the three shifts between Monday and Friday of next week.
This week the factory had to stop production on Monday due to a lack of chips and the two weeks before it had to shut down for two days each for the same reason.
The factory management decided a few days ago activate three Saturdays in April, 9, 23 and 30to recover lost production and deliver volume promised to customers, but due to uncertainty over parts supply, finally not going to work this first saturday
The lack of supplies of semiconductors has caused several production stoppages in the past year at this company, which directly employs about 5,000 people. The previous major stop occurred at the end of last year, from December 17 to January 3.
