On Saturday morning, observant residents became aware of dense clouds of smoke in Vienna-Donaustadt. A building was completely on fire. The alerted emergency services were able to prevent even worse events by quickly intervening.
Around 6 a.m., residents were woken from their sleep when they suddenly noticed a huge column of smoke. A major fire broke out in an outbuilding of a residential building on Pfalzgasse. The emergency services immediately started extinguishing the fire and were able to get the fire under control after an hour.
No injuries
A fire extinguishing line was deployed to prevent the flames from spreading further. The detached building contained, among other things, the residents’ bicycles. There are no injuries. The cause of the fire is still unclear. The investigation is progressing quickly.
