This is really disgusting: In Linz, a video is causing a stir showing a cruise ship spilling brown liquid into the Danube. The ship is suspected to have leaked feces into the Danube near the Lentos Art Museum. Shipping authorities and water police are investigating.
In the video you see a dark brown liquid flowing into the Danube. The video was uploaded to YouTube by “Linza Stadtmagazin” on Friday. According to ‘Linza’, witnesses had already observed and filmed the horrific incident on Wednesday. The cruise ship is currently said to be in Passau. Once it returns to Upper Austria, the captain will likely be questioned about the incident.
State Councilor for the Environment, Stefan Kaineder (Greens), said: “We take this matter very seriously. The time when the environment was polluted without consequences is finally over. This happens regardless of which procedure and which substances and resources. This of course also applies to stools. “We will of course investigate this matter very carefully.”
