This time our series “Austria’s EURO Stars” is about defender Flavius Daniliuc. His brother Daniel-Edward is also a professional footballer and told the “Krone” what his childhood was like, why he always had to play in goal and why the whole family had postponed the summer holidays at short notice.
For the Daniliuc family, many things revolved around football from a very young age. The twin brothers Daniel-Edward and Manuel-Raphael and the approximately one and a half year younger Flavius chased the ball when they were still children. “We started in the park when we were five or six years old. “Our father always took us with him,” recalls Daniel-Edward, who recently guarded the goal for second division club Lafnitz and will be looking for a club from the summer. “I was the fattest, so I had to go into the box,” he laughs, “but it became clear relatively quickly that Flavius had the greatest talent among us. He always played well for us.”
