The AUA parent Lufthansa wants to offer some free drinks in economy class again this summer. The service will initially be available on a test basis on individual short- and medium-haul routes, the company confirmed on Monday.
Airline boss Jens Ritter had previously announced the test drive in several interviews, which could potentially lead to higher customer satisfaction. There will be selected drinks such as tea or coffee, it said on Monday. As part of ongoing customer satisfaction analyses, customer responses should be recorded.
Lufthansa ended the free service in economy class in the summer of 2021 and replaced it with paid offers. Without paying, passengers received a bottle of water and a piece of chocolate. Hot drinks on board cost between 3 and 3.50 euros, tomato juice 3.20 euros.
